Parking the FSC Mobile

FSC went out for a while the other day and I was surprised to see his truck when he got back. He parked very close to the wall. I had to go out and lecture him on the proper parkage (is that even a word??) of the FSC mobile. I don't think he appreciated it.

Eggs

So, today I was really really hungry. I decided that I needed a couple of sunny-side up eggs. Well, holy crap!  How much bigger do eggs get anymore? I wasn't sure that I would be able to eat them all up, but I gave it my best shot. I ended up eating most of them! Then I needed a nap.

Climbing

We went tree climbing after visiting the mechanic. It was lots of fun and neither one of us fell out of the tree. Climbing trees is one of my favorite things to do.

Wrench

So while the FSC was busy talking to his mechanic, I was busy playing with my tool.

Smells good

A good backwoods smoke always tastes good. FSC does not need any lectures on his health habits, thank you.

Fixing the latch

FSC helped his favorite mechanic work on his truck all morning. The latch replacement didn't take too long but they looked carefully inside at the engine and talked for quite a while.

New latch and listening to rambling

The latch on The Former State Commander's truck broke. That was a bummer. I told him he should have bought a Chevy, but he didn't listen. Instead he rambled on and on about how Ford didn't take any government money. Anywhooooooooo................he ended up buying a new latch.

Happy Easter! Albeit a little late!

Jesus is also the reason for THIS season!
Hope you had a wonderful Easter.

Spring!

Spring is finally really starting to show up. Pretty purple flowers are popping up all over!   Yay!

FSC was chewing me out because he thought I was napping. No such luck! I was checking the underside of the flowers. Yeah........that's it.

A Visitor

Gadger came over for a visit when I woke up. I shared my popcorn with him, but I didn't tell him that I was sleeping in the bowl.  Do you think he would have minded? Gadger is a toy thief. He steals everyone's toys, but today he didn't steal any of mine.

Snack time

I was hungry for a snack after working hard(ly) all day. I was also very tired. I decided to nap in my snack. Lately, I have been all over my food, haven't I? I'm pretty disgusting.

Sitting on Bread

hahaha! I know. I should not sit on my bread, but it was mine! I did not share it with anyone because it was so good. I ate the whole entire thing in a day and a half. Can you believe what a hog I was??

Chocolate Banana Bread

My baker made the most yummy chocolate banana bread the other day. I was getting bored with the same old banana bread and the cocoa really added to it. Not too sweet and not too chocolately.

Up Hill

I know, I know. I'm complaining about doing something fun, but try being our size and walking up the hill with your sled. You would think it was no fun, either!

Sledding

A couple of days after FSC rescued me, we decided to go sled riding. It was the first time I have gone in many years. We had so much fun going down the hill on our new rose petal sleds that we didn't want to stop.  The hill we found was gigantic. I wish it had a ski lift because trudging up that hill with our sleds was torture.

Buried

Do you see that hole on the bottom right hand side of the picture? Do you know what that is?? It's ME!!
I fell off of another tree and landed in 30 inches of snow.
Luckily, The Former State Commander was outside and saw me slip. It took him 3 hours to get over to where I was and then he used a backhoe to dig me out. It was nice of him to take my picture before he dug me out.

I just love FSC!

Checking on Things

I had to check on my baby trees that I have growing. It was no fun climbing on them with all of the ice. At one point, I slipped but I saved myself from falling. I was out for 2 hours on the particular tree. I got stuck.

Snowstorm

We got hit with the biggest snowstorm in early February since 1993. We got pounded with 24 inches and for weeks after, we would get 4-5 inches every day. We ended up with over 70" of snow. It made it a little tough for us to get around since we are so small, but we made it!

I'm Back!!

So, I have been away for quite a while. I have been involved in many many things, but nothing I really want to share.

The summer went by very quickly. The FSC and I didn't have a good tomato crop this year. It got hit with the tomato blight. The farm co-op's tomato crop was hit with it also. Hopefully this year's crops will be better.
We did get a watermelon, though. It was beautiful and the best watermelon we have ever eaten! We are going to plant more this year. Carrots, zucchini and peppers were lovely, also.

Christmas was the best this year. We had snow, but it rained all day and it was melted by the day after Christmas. Then, we had more snow, quite a few inches. It was lovely.

Pittsburgh - City of Champions, once again!

So the Penguins managed to win the Stanley Cup! Yay! It's hard to believe that this city has won the Super Bowl and The Stanley Cup in the same year. Now if only the Pirates would follow suit. Wishful thinking, I guess.

The new Pittsburgh shirt says, On Ice or Grass, We'll Kick Your Ass!

In case you are reading this, Hi Mr. and Mrs. Malkin!! You may not remember me, but I was fishing with you at the pond in Sewickley!

Little Bites, cont.

As I was getting my bedtime snack the other night, I ran across this GIGANTIC piece of cereal. I had to call The Former State Commander to come over to my house and help me pull it out of the box. After we had our picture taken with it, we ate the yummy morsel. I was stuffed for 3 days! Not to mention what all of that fiber did...

Kellogg's Little Bites

My favorite cereal right now is Kellogg's Little Bites chocolate shredded wheat. It is chocoyummy! Normally, they are very tiny, as you can see in this photo.

Blackberry Bush

I planted a new blackberry bush earlier in the spring and I decided to take a look at it from the ground up. It seems to be growing well.

Bracelets

I have been busy making bracelets! A new hobby, I guess. I have to get out of the dirt sometimes.
The chicks who received these bracelets were very happy indeed! They put them on right away. Maybe I should make some more. Hmmmmmmm....bet I could sell them......... What do you think?

Up on the Wall

We ended up having to climb a VERY high wall to be able to see the parade and speakers. Even though we were an hour early, and had the best possible place to watch the whole event, people didn't see us and they shoved us out of our spot.
At least we didn't fall backwards over the wall into the raging creek and hogweed!
We hope everyone took time out of their day to remember the veterans who gave all to defend this great country of ours.

Memorial Day

Here we are, waiting for the Memorial Day parade to start. We got to the parade site early so we could get a good spot from which to view the parade.

On the Music

After I hopped down from the chair, The Former State Commander and I decided to check out the music that was going to be played that night. We got up on the conductor's stand and had a sneak peek. It was a wonderful concert!

Concert

The Former State Commander and I attended a concert the other night. I had to hop up on my favorite trombone player's seat just to see how it would feel to be in the spotlight!

Bend Over!

EneMan looks very happy, doesn't he? I wasn't!

You should have heard The Former State Commander! The words and laughter coming out of his mouth! I was SHOCKED!

By the way, it was a good thing we did this outside. It was very explosive!

Uhhh ohhhh!

I had a visit from my old pal, EneMan. It wasn't so good to see him because he came here on a business visit.
It seems I ate too many eggs and my butt was a little clogged.
The Former State Commander happened to be here when EneMan stopped by and he thought it would be nice to stay for moral support. Thanks, FSC!

Colored Eggs

The Former State Commander and I LOVE Easter eggs!

How did the Easter Bunny put stripes on all of them?

Happy Easter!

While I am updating my blog a little late, I still want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!
For Jesus's suffering and death on the cross, we may have everlasting life!

Secret Cave

We found a secret cave the day after

all of the snow melted. We were afraid to go in it, though. We thought it might contain a viscious earthpig. We didn't want to face it's wrath for intruding upon it!

Onion Snow

Well, we had our Onion Snow! I don't think it will snow anymore this year. This snow only lasted for two days. Not bad.

It was fun running around in the snow. We still miss Willis, though. We wish he would get back from his real estate buying spree.

Swinging

After I went to the field with The Former State Commander
I decided to go on an egg swing for a nice ride. It was warm and beautiful and the calm before the onion snow.

Farm Co-Op

So, out to the field we went the other day, The Former State Commander and I. I wanted to check out the spinach The Former State Commander had planted. It is growing beautifully! I am hoping he gives me some at harvest time!

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Dear God, please comfort and watch over the families of the brave Pittsburgh police officers that were brutally murdered on April 4, 2009.
Please protect police officers everywhere. Thank you. Amen

Games

Where the heck are you??
Come on FSC!! I want to get back home because it's almost hot tub time! Call Willis! Maybe he's back in town and he can join us!

While on our walk, The Former State Commander decided he wanted to play hide-n-seek. He hid alright! I could not find the man all afternoon!!

Walking

The Former State Commander and I went for a walk today in the warmth and glorious sunshine. It was in the lower 70's today. Too bad tomorrow it is going to be 46 degrees.

Spiderman

Spiderman came by today. (Why the heck is he wearing black!!??) He was looking for Willis and The Former State Commander. Willis is out of town again. Rumor has it he is looking at some pretty big real estate, but I can't be sure. The Former State Commander is starting a farm co-op. It should be quite interesting. He was busy outside doing things with a pitchfork!

Signs of Spring

The lovely flowers are starting to bloom. I had my men working hard today as I snuck off and has a little siesta under the blossoms! Welcome, Spring!

Leprechaun Wee

I went into the fridge to get some milk after I had my morning tea, and lo and behold!!! I found the leprechauns had taken a wee in my milk and turned it green!!
It doesn't look too green in the jug or in the glass on the picture, but trust me, it's GREEN!!!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Top o' the Morning to ya, Lads and Lassies!
It's a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! Too bad I can't have any Irish whiskey today as I have given it up for Lent as a good Catholic should. Ahhhhhhhhhh.......
Well, at least I have some freshly baked Irish soda bread and butt butter for it. (Look at the container! It says butt!) Later on I will be having cabbage and bacon soup. What a wonderful dinner that will make! It smells heavenly simmering on the stove.

Punch and Cookies

So, I busy making cookies for Valentine's Day when all of a sudden, a giant hairy ape lumbered into the kitchen. Hairy ape looked at the dough and PUNCHED it! What the hell???!!

What a Ride!

Santonio Holmes picked us up and took us for a ride. Can you believe it?? The very guy we were all cursing out a few seconds before getting the winning touchdown! He gave us a ride!!

Ok, so we didn't make it to the parade. We taped ourselves to the tv to make it look like we went. We are mad at Willis.

It was still better than going to Punxsutawney to see Phil yesterday morning. What a weekend that would have been. The Super Bowl, Punxsutawney, then the parade. I think we would have been a little tired after that whole thing, if you know what I mean!

Parade Route

See??? We were IN the parade. Right in the middle of the route. Most of those people came to see us before the Steelers.

Hines Ward

Hines Ward LOVES us!! We are now best buds with him. Yes, we are!
Don't you see how he is looking adoringly at us?

Yes, we were at the parade!!
